Interchange Plus
Interchange Plus, also known as Cost Plus, breaks down costs into two parts: the interchange fee - which is set by the issuing banks and card networks - and the markup fee, which is set by the payment processor. Interchange Plus is usually the most cost-effective pricing model for businesses that rely heavily on card payments, especially debit cards.
Merchant Surcharge
Merchant Surcharge is reflected as an extra fee that merchants add to all credit card transactions in order to cover the cost of accepting this specific payment method. Surcharges are displayed as a percentage of the total transaction amount however, all card brands limit the percentage that can be charged.
Dual Pricing / Cash Discount
Similar to what you see at gas stations, Dual Pricing offers customers two different Cash and Card price. With Cash Discount, merchants reduce the price of a product or service by a percentage in exchange for a payment in cash. Both options completely eliminate a merchant’s processing fees.
